Amir Khan has given wonderful and great movies to the bollywood. 3 Idiots is another vehicle to showcase Amir’s sparkling ability to be a part of Indian Cinema that creates a conversational yet classy language of thought provoking punctuation, syntax and exclamation.
First and for most 3 Idiots is an extremely entertaining fragment of cinema. The boys having a fun atmosphere in the engineering campus is shot with a meandering humor and the warmth of joke has not lost its punch till the end.
In this straight jacketed society of ours it’s very difficult to change the systems which are been followed since years. But this movie shows that how three students finish their studies in spite of having so much of pressure but at last they come up with whatever they wanted to do and not what they parents wanted them to be.
And really, when Rajkumar Hirani, with help from his co-writer Abhijit Joshi, sets down to criticize the glaring anomalies in our education system, we are compelled to wonder for a few seconds, if flogging the sacred cows of our institutionalized system of governance in cinema is not just an excuse to pull out all stops and let the young heroes have all the fun that their more disciplined counterparts deny themselves.
The first part of the movie has innumerable scenes that if one wants to
The first part of the movie has innumerable scenes that if one wants to control their laugh, it’s just not possible. On the very first day the three characters meet. Salt water is good conductor of electricity. As shown Rancho (Amir Khan) belongs to a very wealthy family. The other two characters Raju (Sharman) and Farhaan (Madhvan) friends of Rancho form the other two idiots.
Every one has read it but Rancho applied it to piss off his senior from getting ragged on the very first day of engineering college. The core message of the movie is striving for excellence is worth then striving for success.
Raju’s family being very power with a dad, who is sick, lying on the bed, teary eyed mother, an un-wed sister is shown in the black and white picture like in the early 50s. Which can be seen and sympathize with the stroke of black humor. Farhan belongs to a family where parents sacrifice with a single AC in their sons’ room so that he could study comfortably.
Couple of sceens in the movie is really memorable and funny. Note the scene when Rancho and his girl, Pia (Kareena) takes the patient to the hospital on a scooter. In such a serious condition they are still in their own dreamland. After that another part where Rancho asks five more minutes to complete his paper. But when the examiner refuses to take the paper, they make the fool of the examiner and trickily mix their answer sheets and run away. ‘ALL IS WELL’ the anthem is perfectly shot with all the humor and fun and also eye-catchy.
From then the story starts disintegrating. They type of pressure intimated on the student’s leads to suicide. This is a very breath taking scene where a final year student asks for an extension of the submission of his model. Which is refused by the professor? The boy has himself to death unknowingly that Rancho has made the model successfully. This shows Ranchos always helping nature not only this time but throughout the movie.
The second half of the movie is totally a cukoo, where a baby is delivered in the college campus with the help of a vacuum cleaner. This has no relevance to the story but still an innovative way which I don’t think should be used, which was funny but the technique applied for generating the electricity using a VIRUS INVERTOR was amazingly good.
Another humorous scene is the scene on the TEACHERS DAY celebration. Where the so called ambitious student prepares a speech edited bye Rancho makes a nuisance of the principle and the chief guest by replacing of a word CHAMATKAR with BALATKAR.
Amir Khan is do-gooder hero who is a genius student, a trustable friend, an expert adviser who can even look at a girl and magically guess that the girl is wearing a watch which is given be her late mother and is missing her at the moment.
Sharman plays a role of true student who un-intentionally blabbers about his faults a win the hearts of the interviewing panel by his honesty. This ends up with a job in his hand.
Omi playing Chatur is an ambitious student, has the best lines and is the source of humor most of the time. Boman Irani acts as a Grumpy principle some what as he was in MUNNA BHAI. The actor playing the role of millimeter has an undearing performance.
Over the entire movie is wonderful. Cinematography is outstanding. Especially the make up of Amir which makes him look in his early 20s hiding his actual age. Technically the movie is functional. Music is mind-blowing and fantabulous.
3 Idiots should be watched by each individual especially students. In a country where students are driven to do suicide by their impossible curriculum. 3 Idiots provides hope. May be cinema cannot saves life but it can make one feel that life is really very important. 3 Idiots does just that and much more.
